In December, Argentina announced that it was banning export of corn to preserve it for the domestic market. Today, government officials backed off a bit and is now allowing limited export of corn. Concurrently, for the first time in decades Vietnam has been forced to import rice from India due to shortages. And new massive insect farm is now operational in Illinois. The article indicates that the insect farm is to provide a protein source for animals, but the World Economic Forum is advocating for consumption insects by humans as well. My family is working to increase our consumption of locally sourced healthy foods.
