The even more explosive claim is: these tiny brains in the lab have their performance improved by a SYSTEM OF REWARDS AND PUNISHMENTS. What?! For “good work,” the brains get injections of pleasure-inducing dopamine. For “bad work,” random chaotic disturbing electrical stimulation.”
