I like reading the Saker for an alternative perspective on how the U.S. is perceived by others around the world. In our country, the U.S. is framed as the the most powerful country in the world, and a beacon of hope. The Saker characterizes the U.S. as a weakening manipulative empire. Note that the Saker has Russian roots but now lives in the U.S. Though he’s critical of the U.S., note that he chooses to live here where he is allowed to offer his critical assessment.
