A Record 34% of All Household Income in the US Now Comes from the Government

It is incredible what has happened over past year…thousands of small business failures, millions relying on government transfers…and the equities market keeps going up! Between 2019 and 2021 total federal government debt increased from $22 trillion to $28 trillion. Due to electronic money printing, the Federal Reserve balance sheet increased from $4 trillion to $8 trillion. What will the consequences be of decisions to shut down the economy justified by the “pandemic”, push people out of self-reliance, and support it all with money printing?

Whitmer Announces Reopening Metrics Two weeks after 65 percent of those in Michigan 16 and older have received their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, all indoor capacity limits in Michigan will be lifted, Governor Gretchen Whitmer announced today. Ms. Whitmer announced a phased relaxation of the capacity limits the Department of Health and Human Services has implemented on indoor activities. Two weeks after 55 percent of residents 16 and older, or 4.5 million, get their first dose of the vaccine, the requirement that all work be done remotely unless it can only be done in person will be lifted. Once two weeks have passed after the state hits 60 percent of those 16 and older having their first dose, DHHS will increase capacity limits at indoor sports stadiums, funeral homes, conference halls and banquet centers to 25 percent. Gym capacity will rise to 50 percent and the curfew on bars and restaurants will end. Once the state hits 70 percent on first doses, DHHS will lift the epidemic order. Ms. Whitmer said a revised DHHS order will be coming in the next day that relaxes outdoor gathering limits and follows new guidance from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Michigan is currently at just under 49 percent of its population and 16 and older having received their first dose of the vaccine. Ms. Whitmer said at the state’s current pace it could achieve 55 percent by the end of next week, meaning by late May the requirement for work to be done remotely could be lifted. She said she did not have an estimate on when the state might attain 70 percent status.
