Over the past several years, I have found the The Saker to offer a very valuable/helpful perspective on the U.S.-Russia relations/tensions, and geopolitics in general. Last night, I was reviewing The Saker’s philosophy and bio–these quotes (among others) resonated with me:
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Epistle of the Apostle Paul to the Ephesians (6:12)
Thou shalt not be a victim. Thou shalt not be a perpetrator. And above all, Thou shalt not be a bystander. Yehuda Bauer
I am prepared to die, but there is no cause for which I am prepared to kill. I object to violence because when it appears to do good, the good is only temporary; the evil it does is permanent. Strength does not come from physical capacity. It comes from an indomitable will. Mahatma Gandh
I am for truth, no matter who tells it. Malcolm X
I am a pessimist by nature. Many people can only keep on fighting when they expect to win. I’m not like that, I always expect to lose. I fight anyway, and sometimes I win. Richard Stallman
Have a look at The Saker’s philosophy and bio. For what it’s worth, he has my full respect.
